blessed hands

The online gallery is a Flash "slide show" with most of the images in the photographic essay to date. The gallery accommodates both high speed (DSL, Cable) and modem connections. If you have a modem connection you will be able to browse the photographs in the gallery, but you may not be able to view the Flash slide show.

directions ;-)

Individual images can be examined at your own pace by selecting the square Browse Gallery View icon on the lower right of the slideshow. Other icons at the bottom adjust the sound, pause, and restart the show.

about flash

The gallery slide show is a three minute Flash movie that requires Flash Player 9 to run. Adobe claims that 98% of computers have their free Flash Player installed. If you have the Flash Player 9 on your computer, the slide show should start to play after a few moments. If not, you should be prompted to download the player. If you're not prompted and you need to get Flash Player 9 because you're looking at a black screen, you can go directly to Adobe's site, download the program, and install it yourself. It's quite safe.

Three photographs (Bharti's, Maria's, and Theresa's hands) are published in the new 2008 appointment and desk calendar, We-Moon 08: Gaia Rhythms for Women (Mother Tongue Ink, Publisher, June 2007).

One photo  (Carol’s hands) appears as the theme image for the ezine Trivia: Voices of Feminism (Issue 5, February, 2007)

motivation...

Blessed Are These Hands fulfills a vow to creatively capture the feminine face of the Holy and, in some small way, repay a debt to all women whose hands have embraced life and the constant battle for justice.
