blessed hands

Below are links to the cyberspace homes or offices of some of the participants in this project. Like American women in general, most of our subjects don't have their own website. Some are too young to write email.

We thank all of women who graciously let us photograph their hands holding something they consider sacred, holy, an outward representation of their deepest self. We learned much from what they chose to hold, from the words they wrote about their photographs, and from our discussions before, during, and since the photo shoot. We sincerely appreciate their support and encouragement on this project.

motivation...

Blessed Are These Hands fulfills a vow to creatively capture the feminine face of the Holy and, in some small way, repay a debt to all women whose hands have embraced life and the constant battle for justice.
